A Different Measure of “Success”

“Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life.” ~ Wayne W. Dyer

If someone were to ask us what our followers and customers should know about us, I would talk about our attitudes and philosophy when it comes to our business.

When I first realized that I wanted to be a writer, I was in my early teens. I dreamed of being a “famous best-selling novelist” and going on book tours; I thought that’s what being a writer was about ~ entertaining the masses with my fictional stories and the recognition, awards, acclaim that followed. Over the years, my passion for writing stayed with me, but my writing goals evolved as I started to care less about the fame and book tours and more about helping and inspiring others through my writing. My point is when the focus of our goals is more about the bigger rewards {which have nothing to do with money}, the quality of those rewards improves vastly. When someone takes the time to send me a message to say, “Your blog post really inspired me” or “Your post made me realize that I needed to change my circumstances/do something about my situation/choose a different path”, it makes what I do worthwhile and meaningful.

You may ask, “Well if you’re not in this for money, why are you selling products?” Good question. The truth is, we’re not going to make millions selling things on an online store…and that’s okay. We’re here because we want to be a trustworthy retailer providing great customer service for our customers. Chris owned a janitorial supply business for many years and he prided himself on being honest, showing his customers how to save money, even if it meant selling a less expensive product. Many times, he would “throw in a freebie” to his loyal customers because he understood the value of returning customers. We’re here because we like shopping, too! Part of the fun of our business is getting to go to various stores and finding interesting things {our customers might not find in their locale} to sell at a reasonable cost. We’re here because we enjoy meeting and interacting with people from all over. We’re here because we’re from a place where the wonderful concept of “lagniappe” is the norm and we want our loyal customers-turned-friends to know the wonderful concept of receiving “a little something extra” with their purchases. We’re here to share some of our family highlights with anyone who happens to find our page and/or buy our products. We’re here because we value friendship.

“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.” ~ Anaïs Nin

I want to end this first post by saying that we hope you will continue to visit this and all of our other social media sites, including our online shop. Please don’t hesitate to use our contact form, should you have any questions about us or our products. Feedback on our posts, customer service, and products is always welcome!

Until next time,

Carol & Chris
